WHO WE ARE:

The Summit Clean Power Team is a group of Summit volunteers officially organized by the City of Summit Environmental Commission.

WHAT WE’RE DOING:

We’re spreading the word about Clean Power Choice to Summit residents, under the terms of a formal agreement between the City of Summit and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

WHY WE ARE DOING IT:

Partly because of our reliance on coal-generated electricity, our region produces significant amounts of carbon dioxide, a notorious greenhouse gas.  Clean Power Choice gives us a quick, easy way to change that.  When we sign on to Clean Power Choice, we say good-bye to coal, reduce our greenhouse emissions, and help improve our air quality.

NO, REALLY, WHY WE ARE DOING IT:

Clean Power Choice is a great program but right now it’s New Jersey’s best-kept secret.  Despite an advertising campaign, hardly anybody has ever heard about it.  That’s where we come in.  Over the next few months we’ll be explaining the program to friends, family, neighbors, school groups, civic groups – anybody who’ll listen!

JOIN THE TEAM:

New volunteers are welcome!  We can give you tips on explaining Clean Power Choice to any group you belong to, whether it’s a formal organization or an informal gathering like your book club or bridge group.  We also have talking points, brochures, and flyers to help get you started.
