HERE’S HOW:

Clean Power Choice is a new program that lets you switch your electric power to wind, solar, and other clean sources.  It’s a statewide initiative to support more clean energy, administered by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.

DO IT NOW:

Sign up for Clean Power Choice online through the Board of Public Utilities at  http://www.njcleanenergy.com/renewable-energy/programs/cleanpower-choice-program/start-today/start-today or look for the Clean Power Choice brochure in your April electricity bill from JCP&L.

JCP&L supplies electricity to all of Summit.  By signing up for Clean Power Choice, you are telling JCP&L to purchase more electricity from clean energy sources, and less from coal, oil, gas, and nuclear generating plants.

EASY:

You don’t change electricity companies.  You don’t buy any equipment.  There is nothing to install.  JCP&L will still provide your usual electricity service.

CHEAP:

There is a small monthly surcharge for switching to clean energy.  It will appear on your regular JCP&L bill.  Clean Power Choice lets you pick from four clean energy plans, starting at less than $6.00 per month for the average household.

PRETTY NEAT!

About that surcharge…you can practically wipe it out by replacing your old light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs.  The new, improved fluorescent bulbs provide a soft, steady light while using 75% less electricity – that means a big savings for you!
